Our Advice

Here is some advice to consider before booking a party with another operator,
Information on P.A.T. (Portable Appliance Testing)
& P.L.I. (Public Liability Insurance)

All of my equipment is annually tested to the current HSE 'Electricity At Work' regulations (1989) and have P.A.T. certificates for each item. This is a standard requirement at many venues now, especially the more prestigious venues.

It is very important before booking any DJ, to check whether their equipment has been P.A.T. tested and whether they possess P.L.I. These are two of the items which separate professional DJs from the many cowboys around.

PLI is not yet a legal requirement for entertainers but it certainly is common sense and gives peace of mind should an accident occur. I have £10million in PLI cover).

Do NOT Hire Any Other Entertainer Or Kids DJ That Does Not Meet These Criteria.
The sad fact is that there are many entertainers that aren't very good. It's frightening that absolutely anybody can place an ad in the local paper and say they are a children's entertainer.

Don't risk ruining your event. Make sure the entertainer or DJ you hire meets these important standards. Only bring in a performer who has LOTS of recommendations that prove he/she is an experienced entertainer.

Anyone can come up with two or three references. You want to make sure they have an abundance of them! Also, make sure that the testimonials are relevant.

You want to make sure the person you're hiring is a specialist at entertaining and DJing for kids parties only.  Only bring in an entertainer who views the kids safety seriously.

Make sure the entertainer or DJ takes the kids safety seriously. Check that they have a safety certificate for their equipment and Public Liability Insurance, if they don't - run a mile!!
